Working with Individuals
Therapy & Counselling Services:
“ As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself.. the critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.”
– Bessel A. van der Kolk
Our professionals understand that while being aware or knowledgeable about a concern is the first step to working towards your health goals, the process of applying that knowledge to yourself may present challenges that are unique to your recovery.
We further understand that while the above quote might ring true for you, it can be difficult to acknowledge one’s vulnerabilities in front of another individual, even while knowing that doing so is the way to establish meaningful connections and grow in the manner we wish to.
To that end, our services are designed to help create confidential, private and accessible spaces for our clients – spaces that are at times safe, and at some others, brave.
Our expertise provides for a range of diverse mental health concerns and contexts for individuals. We are also open to delivering psychological and emotional aid within organisations (corporates, NGO’s, etc.) and institutes.
Education and Outreach Initiatives:
Mental health concerns, like those related to one’s physical health, can result in loss of productive years, disability and health burdens, particularly if left as is. Support for such concerns could come from different pathways, but we now know that there exist many barriers to seeking and accessing mental health support. These barriers differ across regions, or communities, relating often to differing belief systems related to mental health.
A common and impactful barrier within the Indian and global contexts, is that of mental health stigma, which is frequently associated with a sense of shame or an act of non-disclosure around a mental health condition.
Our team aims to improve awareness and accessibility related to mental healthcare services by way of:
- Developing and promoting resources that help raise awareness and reduce stigma related to mental health within our country, all of which are made available to the general public, and at no cost
- Working to provide various affordable options (redirect: sub tab 3.1) for seeking mental health support, such as a sliding scale fee, providing free first consultations, etc. Please note that such options may be subject to limited availability at a given time. For more information, feel free to contact us before scheduling a session.
